The Making Of

Billy Bob the Cactus Blob DX: Director's Cut

Welcome to The Making Of Billy Bob the Cactus Blob DX: Director's Cut! It is a tale full of exciting situations, and YOU, yes, YOU get to experience it!

Well, first things first. Billy Bob 0.5 and Billy Bob #: Subtitle! were released. It seemed like everything was in set. Everything was in place for heavy work on Billy Bob 3: Master of Disguise to begin, right? Well, apparently, this wasn't the case. Since Billy Bob 1 is really the basis for the whole series, Billy Bob 3 should get a lot of its direction from it, right? Well, the more I thought about it, I didn't want Billy Bob 3 to take that direction. In fact, TLONMASTER's skin curls even if you mention Billy Bob 1. Well, all things considered, I just couldn't have that. So what was there to do about it? There was only one answer: make an extended re-make of sorts, and make it awesome. Seems simple, right? Well, no. No, it wasn't...

Where did I need to begin? Simple. Billy Bob's house. Right. But why? For what purpose? That was something that I didn't discover until the game was almost complete. Just let the adventure unfold before you; there doesn't need to be a reason at all.

From there, I took what could be salvaged from the original Billy Bob and I added in some extra scenarios and ideas. I used every original scenario from the original game, and added an extra twist to it: Billy Bob just didn't save the spaceship; he had to travel through a pyramid to learn how to shoot cactus thistles (I obviously introduced them much earlier in the game, to make room for the different types. Plus, it just makes more sense :P). Billy Bob just didn't fight a Cactus King. He was trapped in the dungeon, had to escape, evade guards, and duel with the King. Billy Bob just didn't drive a multicolored tractor and go to Tractor Land. He used his tractor, full force, to stare evil right in the face, and storm up Too Mah Toe's fortress.

And that wraps up the main story-there weren't any lost storylines or anything like that (seeing how this is a 'Director's Cut' :P). Er, well, there was one lost level, but it was taken out because TGF kept crashing. More on that later.

And now, we move into the stuff you've been waiting for: the beta crap! Yay!

Now, here's the original logo/title screen. It's pitiful, I know. Once I finally I realized I could possibly have a good game here, I quickly deleted this abomination from existence, and made the slick title screen you see today.

Just like in the above example, there were some crappy graphics that just had to go. The terrible original cactus stone was changed into something that looked more like a stone, and all the tile sets in the game were changed.

Here's the lost storyline. After you get the TNT Thistles, you are SUDDENLY attacked once more by the TNT Monster, and must QUICKLY apply your knowledge of the TNT Thistle, and blow it up. I wish it was still in there. Maybe I can whip up a second release of Billy Bob DX sometime...

And that about wraps it up for The Making of Billy...wait. Oh yeah! There's something else! You get to play it! Now I know a lot of you out there enjoyed the seizure world. Guess what!? IT'S BACK! YAY! A large portion of the seizure world had to be changed, as to not give very bad seizures to the main audience. But now, that's changed. For the bold and daring, the REAL seizure world, completely intact, is up for download. Complete with every level being a huge backdrop of seizure loveliness, all the shock barriers force the level to restart! ARE YOU UP TO TEH CHALLENGE!? Of course you are. Be warned: play this at your own risk. I will not be responsible for any personal damage from this AWESOME SEIZURE-INDUCING ALTERNATE SCENE MINI-GAME THING!
